Crucial M500 240 GB Solid State Drive IC Identification

Gough’s Tech Zone took these pictures in this IC Identification. This is also the first solid state drive IC identification I’ve done too.

Design Wins:

IC Identification:

The SSD uses a Marvell 88SS9187 (#1) controller and used 16 Micron MT29F128G08CBCABH6-10:A (#3) 16 GB MLC NAND flash to make up its 240 GB capacity. 2 GB of DDR3 (#2) memory is for the cache and power management is handled by a Monolithic Power Systems MP5505 (#4) PMIC. The Texas Instruments MSP430V592 (#10) 16-bit MCU is likely used as a power monitor.

The block diagram above is just predicted based on the components and function of them in the device.
